World Hydrography Day was celebrated on 21 June 2023 at the Bangabandhu Military Museum Dhaka. A daylong seminar was arranged by Bangladesh Navy Hydrographic Service. Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP inaugurated the program as Chief Guest. The Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal attended the program as special guest. Number of companies made the day meaningful by displaying their activities in their respective stall.
Celestial Tech Limited showcased a wide range of hydrography equipment from several renowned manufacturers, including Norbit Subsea, Khudsen, Meridata, Idronaut, QPS, Hemisphere, Nortek and Valeport. The displayed equipment encompasses advanced technologies and instruments used in hydrographic surveys, oceanographic research, and marine exploration.
This year’s World Hydrography Day theme was “Hydrography – underpinning the digital twin of the ocean.” World hydrographic Day significances are safe navigation, environmental conservation, ensuring the safe passage of ships in ports, harbors, and waterways and cooperation among hydrographic offices.
